Current and near future-courses

• SEG2105: Introduction to Software Engineering (formerly SEG2100). This course introduces all aspects of software engineering to second-year students. It is a pre-requisite for other second- and third-year software engineering courses. I teach it using my own textbook. Please note that other sections during the academic year are taught by other professors.

• SEG4210: Advanced Software Design and Reengineering. This course introduces a variety of cutting-edge software engineering technologies and techniques. It is an elective for software engineering students.

• Specific projects in CSI4900 and SEG4910/4911.

• CSI5122: Software Usability This is my main graduate course.

• SEG3120: User Interface Analysis and Design

• SEG4000: Software Engineering Capstone Project. Note that this has been split into SEG4910 and SEG4911.

Other courses I have taught

I first taught at the university level at the University of New Brunswick in 1986 while studying for my Masters degree. That year I taught 'Introduction to Programming II', and 'Interactive Computing with APL'.

After a period working in industry, I started studying for my PhD in 1999. During my PhD studies I taught several courses, including some of the courses above, and also a course in data structures and a course in software re-engineering. Some of the courses were directed specifically for Federal Government employees.

I have taught full-time at the University of Ottawa since 1994.
