Thelonious
Monk has composed 91 tunes of which only about a half dozen are commonly
performed by the jazz musician's community. Monk's compositions are always
complex, full of surprises or deceptively simple. Bernard Stepien has been
studying the music of Thelonious Monk for nearly
twenty years and is just about to know what to do with it !
This evening will be devoted to a balanced selection of Monk tunes such as
Evidence, Nighthawk, Bemsha swing, Light blue, Panonica, jackie-ing, Off
minor and many more !
