Abstract:
NOVELTY - An explicit congestion notification (ECN) echo flag in acknowledgement packet is set at the destination node when receiving congestion experienced data packet from an intermediate node. The congestion window and the transmission rate are reduced, in response to an ECN-echo ACK packet. When congestion is existing, the lost packet is re-transmitted increasing the round trip time-out (RTO).
USE - For avoiding congestion in network e.g. packet switched networks such as wireless networks.
ADVANTAGE - The enhanced algorithm maintains a high data throughput and enhances the efficiency when data packets overflow in the congested routers with minimization of high packet loss rate and number of congestions in network.
