Cross-Language Pair Annotations (CLPA)

   CLPA – is a CALL that is designed to help second language learners of French in the reading comprehension task. It annotates a French text with Cognates and False Friends between French and English. It provides useful information for the False Friends words (English word definition, False Friend word definition etc.).  It has a GUI that makes easy for the user to distinguish the Cognates and False Friends words, and also allows the student to choose which type of annotation will like to have.

    The tool uses UIMA’s from IBM and BaLIE’s capabilities. More information regarding CLPA capabilities can be found here.
