Dr. Tuncer I. Ören is a professor emeritus of computer science at the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) of the University of Ottawa (Canada)

Education:

1955 - High school: Galatasaray Lisesi (founded in 1481), Istanbul, Turkey

1960 - Master in Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Istanbul, Turkey

His current research interests include:

1. Advancement of Modeling and Simulation (M&S)

1.1

Advanced M&S methodologies such as:

    Multimodels (to encapsulate several aspects of simulation models),
    Multisimulation (to allow simultaneous simulation of several aspects of a system, including multiple perception, behavioral anticipation as well as simulated retrocausality), and
    Emergence in simulation (emergent states, emerging relationships, emergence-based model switching in multimodels and emergence-based multisimulation);

1.2

Cognitive simulation: Simulation of human behavior by fuzzy agents, agents with dynamic personality and emotions, agents with perception, anticipation, and understanding abilities;

1.3

Reliability and quality assurance in M&S and user/system interfaces;

2.

Professionalism in M&S

2.1

Professional ethics for sustainable civilized behavior (for simulationists as well as for software agents);

2.2

Body of knowledge of M&S and

2.3

Terminology of M&S

3.

Turkish

3.1

Proper use of Turkish in Informatics
