File Menu

The File menu includes the following sub-menus.

Open

shows a sub-menu with:

Use Case Editor

to open a Use Case Edition tool window.

Domain Editor

to open a Domain Model Edition tool window.

Scenario Editor

to open a Scenario Model Edition tool window.

Simulator

to open a Simulator tool window.

New Project

to create a new project. The User is prompted to save the currently loaded project if it has been modified and is unsaved.

Load Project

to load a project. Projects are stored in two parts: a text file that contains the domain, scenario and use case models in UCEd XML format, and a binary file that contains the internal representation of state machines and validated models.

The User is prompted for a project saved in UCEd XML format on the file system. The project binary representation is also loaded if any.

Notice that binary representations from different versions of UCEd are not compatible. Loading of a project created with a previous version of UCEd will result on only the XML part (domain, scenario and use case models) being loaded. These models would have to be validated and state models regenerated.

XMI Import Project

to import a project use case model and domain model saved in the XMI format. This feature allows using models developed with UML modeling tools with XMI export facilities such as ArgoUML.

Save Project

to save the current project. The User is prompted for a name if the project is unnamed.

Save Project As

to save the current project in new files. The user is prompted for an XML file name. The binary file name is created by appending '.bin' to the XML file name.

Export Project As HTML

to generate a HTML representation of the domain model, the use case model and the state model.

Exit

to quit UCEd. If the current project has been modified and is unsaved, UCEd prompts for saving before exiting.
