Kinds of planet :

• gas giant (4 kinds, 106 facts) (Jovian planet) - Giant planet that has a gaseous surface.
• naked eye planet (5 kinds, 138 facts) - a planet in our solar system visible to the unaided eye
• proto-planet (2 facts) - Early stage in the formation of planets according to the theory by which planetary systems evolve through the condensation of gas clouds surrounding a young star. The theory is not, however, generally accepted.
• superior planet (6 kinds, 147 facts) - Planets farther from the Sun than the Earth is (i.e., Mars to Pluto).
• terrestrial planet (5 kinds, 130 facts) - A planet having a compact rocky surface like Earth
